Jerry Lewis was born at Kadlec Hospital and grew up in Richland. His father, S. Walt Lewis was a photographer at Hanford. As such, Jerry may have taken his first photo when he was two.
Jerry has been scanning and making available both his father's archival photos and his own photo collection, as well as continuing to create images. He is the creator of Atomic City Archives, which has historic photos of Richland and environs. He has also creating photo books of his father's photographs: JFK's 1963 visit and the 1951 Atomic Frontier Days festival. He is also currently publishing letters written by his father to his mother (before they were married) when he was in the Army Air Force and then working at Hanford, 80 years ago.
